The glacier from Scărișoara

At 50 meters deep, there is a huge ice block estimated at over 50,000 cubic meters. In the depths there are also two ice-free sectors, the Big Reservation and the Small Reservation, with scientific reservation regime. Well dressed, we descend in a spiral, on the metal stairs, observing the flora on the walls of the oats, organized in circular bands, corresponding to the temperature, which at the base of the oats is close to 0 degrees Celsius. It is exactly the stratification of vegetation on a mountain over 2500 meters, but in miniature and inverted!
Lupșa Monastery
The monastery is one of the oldest monastic settlements on the Arieș Valley. Being founded by the monks who used to hang in the land of the Moors, from the beginning it had a great spiritual role for the nearby villages. The present wooden church of Sihăstria Lupșa dates back to 1421. The founder is the boyar Stanislav, from the family of Candea de Lupsa.
Reservation Scărița Belioara

The reserve houses species of plants that have survived from the cold glacial periods, being below their usual altitude, as well as others that are preserved from the warmer periods of the ice age.
